John has extensive experience advising on and executing a wide-range of strategic communications initiatives, including corporate visibility and positioning, reputation management, shareholder activism, crisis and issues management, transactions and other special situations.
In both proactive and reactive scenarios, John assists clients in developing a corporate identity, promoting strategies for effective messaging, and communicating the value proposition to key stakeholders. His areas of focus include shareholder activism, executive transitions, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, go-private transactions, spin-offs, bankruptcy and restructurings, SPAC deals and capital raising.
Additionally, John helps companies prepare for and respond to a host of crisis scenarios, including financial malfeasance and accounting issues, product recalls, labor disputes, litigation, data breach and IT-related issues, regulatory issues, social issues, sexual misconduct, workplace violence and natural disasters.
Prior to joining GBPR, John spent nearly seven years at ICR, where he was a member of the firm’s corporate communications and special situations practices. He earned a B.A. in Social Anthropology from Harvard College. He is based in New York City.
