CHESTER, CT (WFSB) – Residents of Chester, who participate in a new home energy improvement service program, could save on their energy bills and reduce the amount of energy they use, according to town officials.

The program called Home Energy Solutions will have fully trained and licensed professionals “install energy efficient products and perform weatherization services,” according to a spokeswoman from the town.

The services include:

  • Locating and professionally sealing critical air leaks
  • Replacing incandescent lights with energy-saving bulbs
  • Insulating hot water pipes

The HES program costs $75 for customers, who have electric and gas heat, and $99 for customers, who have oil heat. The program is free for “income eligible residents.”
