First Niagara donated $25,000 to the American Red Cross Connecticut Region to help residents recover from Tropical Storm Irene.

The American Red Cross opened up evacuation shelters before the storm hit and continues to provide shelter, food and clean up supplies for state residents.

In addition to the bank’s donation, every one of First Niagara’s more than 300 branches across the Northeast is accepting tax-deductible contributions to the American Red Cross to help communities recover from the storm.
