First Niagara Bank has added new capabilities to the mobile banking application for smartphones that it launched in January 2013.
New features that are being offered on the app include:
• Remote deposit capture, which allows customers to use their smartphone to take a picture of a check they wish to deposit and make transaction through a secure connection.
• One-swipe balance, which allows customers to quickly view their account balances on their mobile device without logging in.
The app still allows transfers between accounts, scheduling of payments, viewing of account history and balances, and help locating ATMs and bank branches.
The newly-improved app is available for iPhone, Android and Blackberry. The bank now has more than 140,000 unique mobile banking users.
First Niagara has 420 branches and approximately 5,800 employees in Connecticut and three other states.
