The Watermark at East Hill is pleased to announce the recent addition of Melody Floyd as Community Life director for the retirement community, located at 611 East Hill Road in Southbury.
Prior to joining The Watermark, Floyd worked for several years in community outreach, working as BRASS program coordinator for New Opportunities, Inc. in Waterbury, as well as working in the healthcare industry for various senior living communities throughout Connecticut.
“Melody’s experience coordinating resident programs makes her an ideal fit for this position,” said Michelle Bettigole, executive director at The Watermark at East Hill. “She truly cares about our residents’ overall well-being and ensures they stay active and engaged in community life each and every day.”
Floyd’s primary responsibilities include planning and coordinating programs offered to both residents of The Watermark and the general public. One of Floyd’s newer initiatives is taking and sending photos of residents participating in programs to family members as a way for them to feel connected to their loved one’s daily life.
“I have already received several phone calls and cards from family members who are thrilled to have the opportunity to see how their loved one is being actively engaged at The Watermark,” said Floyd. “Connecting and bringing families together is such a rewarding aspect of this job.”
Floyd earned an Associate’s Degree in Health Administration from Axia College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services Management from the University of Phoenix. A native of Connecticut, she currently resides in Newington.
