Haddam in late August become one of the more than 100 Connecticut communities to join the Clean Energy Communities program, put on by Energize Connecticut.
Under the program, Haddam pledged to reduce its municipal building energy consumption by 20 percent by 2018 and obtain 20 percent of its electricity needs from renewable sources by 2018.
The town’s residents and businesses can help the town earn rewarded by participating in Energize Connecticut programs, including up to $15,000 grants for energy projects.
Energize Connecticut is a state efficiency initiatives funded by the electric and natural gas utilities.
