The Watermark at 3030 Park will host a free workshop presented by Dr. Tiffany Wright on the relationship between sugar and weight gain, and the obesity pandemic in America on Friday, Sept. 14, at 3:30 p.m.

Wright, also known as “The L.A. Skinny Coach,” will present her two-hour “Sugar and You” workshop that addresses research findings in the biochemistry of eating disorders, blood sugar imbalances and dieting.

“Proper eating habits are such a vital part of maintaining good health, especially as people get older,” said Chris Romick, executive director of The Watermark. “Dr. Wright’s lecture will not only address the problem, but also ways to break bad eating habits and sustain a healthier eating lifestyle.”

The workshop is interactive, with participants receiving handouts, quizzes and having the opportunity to ask Wright questions after the program.

Wright earned her doctorate degree in personality psychology with a concentration in psychometrics from the University of California. She lost more than a 100 pounds 10 years ago and since then has helped her clients lose more than 2,500 pounds through her diet plan. She is the author of the book, “Elementalyou, The Revolutionary Diet,” as well as a cookbook of whole-foods-based recipes.
