Bridgeport – Watermark Retirement Communities recently announced that residents at The Watermark at 3030 Park in Bridgeport and The Watermark at East Hill in Southbury are featured in the 2014 edition of Watermark Expressions, a calendar celebrating active aging and the arts.

Each year, hundreds of residents from more than 30 Watermark communities across the country competed for a place in the calendar. Expert judges assessed work at each community, selecting the best pieces to be sent to Watermark Retirement Communities’ headquarters in Tucson, Arizona. From there, finalists were selected and awarded one of only twelve spots in this year’s calendar.

“The 2014 edition of Expressions showcases an impressive collection of artistic works,” said David N. Barnes, President and CEO of Watermark Retirement Communities. “We are proud to exhibit the talent and creativity of our residents who live and thrive in Watermark communities across the country.”

Carol Manasevit’s piece, “Peace” is featured for the month of July. Carol is a resident at The Watermark at 3030 Park and studied Fine Arts at Columbia University. She says her inspiration for the acrylic painting is her daughter, Sharon.

Audrey Namowitz, a resident at The Watermark at East Hill’s entry received an honorable mention. Namowitz is a former art teacher who recently exhibited her photography during the communitie’s “Meet the Artist” event.
